I am an undergraduate in the Department of Genetics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Currently, I am working with Nicole Perna in the Genome Evolution Laboratory at UW-Madison as a research assistant and software developer. My research focus is on the evolution of transcriptional regulation in the enterobacteria Eschericha coli and Salmonella. I enjoy studying aspects of genome evolution through the use of bioinformatic tools. My long term interests involve genome evolution and evolution of transcriptional regulation. I also maintain a strong interests in statistics and computer science, specifically Bayesian inference and Markov chain Monte Carlo. My long term goals involve pursuing a PhD degree, with a research focus on mathematical and statistical applications to understanding the evolution of genomes and transcriptional networks.
